REVIEW: KEEPING SARAH #BDSM #MENAGE

Blurb:

Honeymooning in England, Jesse Colter, Adam Sinclair and their beloved wife, Sarah, are heading for their friend Thorne Cahill’s BDSM club for dinner when another car deliberately tries to run them off the road.  Thanks to their own driver’s skills, the other car is destroyed, the two unknown occupants killed.
Through Thorne, they discover that they’re the targets of a “blood feud”, instigated by Konstandin Sokolov, son of Viktor Sokolov, the Albanian mobster who had unwisely kidnapped Sarah a few months back, and paid for it with his life.  They also discover that Thorne’s guests, ruthless human traffickers, have gathered for a slave auction being held the following night.  Konstandin Sokolov happens to be one of the buyers.
Fraught with treachery, betrayal, and deadly danger, Keeping Sarah keeps the reader on a knife’s edge of tension, while simultaneously exploring the deepening emotional commitment between Jesse and Adam.  They already trust each other with their lives.  Now they must learn how to trust each other with their love.

Review:

This is the third book in the Sarah series. I highly recommend reading these books in order. These books are quiet an entertaining and titillating trilogy. The blurb is about all I can sum up for the book without giving away all the good twists and turns!

I really enjoyed watching Sarah go from sub to a kicking-butt-taking-names kind of girl. She can clearly take care of herself and submits to her husbands willingly. After the traffickers try to kidnap her, she gives the reader a "Yes! You go girl!" moment. Watching Adam and Jesse open their hearts to each other balanced everything with a nice amount of tenderness.

The story moves at a quick pace, is filled with one hot romance scene after another, and has all the action a reader could want in an erotic story. I give Keeping Sarah 4 stars!

BELLA SETTARRA SPOTLIGHTS #MENAGE OF THE SIREN

Menage of the Siren by Bella Settarra

Sirens and Sailors #4

Farris’s fight to keep the ménage together seems doomed when Dr. Jay has to fight for his future while Ademia is fighting for her life…

Ademia loves Farris and Dr. Jay as much as they love her, though neither will admit it.
When Farris breaks his promise and both men seemingly abandon her on the mainland with no way to get home, she feels she was wrong about them.  Ill and alone, she reluctantly finds herself in the arms of Palben, a man she considered a friend.  When it transpires that Palben believes she is a prostitute, and aims to make money from her, she realizes her life is in serious danger.

Jay is arrested and locked up after his alleged sexual assault on a nurse who is intent on discrediting him and ruining his career and his life.

Farris resolves to find Ademia and free the doctor in order to cement his ‘family’ together.

But can Farris keep them all together when Ademia is later taken critically ill on Refrainia while he and Dr. Jay are miles away on Eastland, fighting for Jay’s future?

About the Author

Bella’s love of writing started at a very young age.  While at Junior School, she was once asked to write a story that was to be displayed on the window due to lack of wall space (remember Portakabins?)  Unfortunately, once she gets going she tends to run with an idea right up until the conclusion – and it has to have a happy ending!  The story was so long it covered several windows and caused a blackout in the tiny classroom!
She is British and lives in the beautiful English countryside with one of her three gorgeous daughters and her wonderful husband, often referred to as her “current husband” just to keep him on his toes!
They live in a big haunted house therefore Bella’s housework is never done as the ghost keeps moving things around - the bedroom isn’t the only place where things go bump in the night ;)
Open top cars and country music are among Bella’s favourite things and her fondness of shopping is only surpassed by her love of Châteauneuf-du-pape.
“Menage of the Siren” is Bella’s fourth book and she is currently working on more titles to add to the “Sirens and Sailors” series.

Bella would love to hear from her readers.  Connect with her at:

Story Excerpt

They parted ways and Dr. Jay led the girls to the hospital. Ademia didn’t much like it there, so she was pleased to have Ligia with her. Dr. Jay was obviously very much at home in the large, white building, but it made the girls feel nervous. It was full of people scurrying about, looking important in their different uniforms. Even the patients seemed very serious.
“I just want Ademia to have a scan of that arm to make sure it’s mended properly,” Dr. Jay was telling Dr. Ernaut, a white-haired doctor with a serious expression.
“Of course, Dr. Jasun,” the older man nodded, using the doctor’s correct name. Everyone on the island knew him as Dr. Jay, which seemed a little less intimidating to the women, who weren’t used to having a medic around, much less one as large and dominant as the ship’s surgeon.
A nurse in a crisp, white uniform came to join them. She couldn’t believe her luck when she saw them arrive. Having set her sights on the handsome ship’s doctor when she first saw him, she was just waiting for the right time to make her move. She had also done her homework and learned that he was in the middle of setting up his own practice on the island of Refrainia. Although the nurse had no intention of moving to the island herself, she knew how much money was tied up in private practice, and she was very fond of money. She was also keen on promotion, and the young doctor was speaking to the one man who could easily get it for her. Two birds with one stone!
“You managed to get her fever under control then, Doctor?” she asked with a wide smile.
“Eventually,” Dr. Jay said, smiling back at the pretty nurse. “She had us worried for a while there, though.”
Ademia was becoming more than a little peeved about the way they were all talking about her as if she wasn’t there. She was even more annoyed at the way the slim young nurse was flirting with Dr. Jay, although she wasn’t about to admit it, even to herself.
“Nurse Reis will do the scan, it won’t take long,” Dr. Ernaut announced.
The nurse led Ademia into a small room while the doctors chatted outside. Ligia gave her friend a hug before finding a chair to wait on in the corridor.
“I’m just going to scan your arm,” Nurse Reis said matter-of-factly as she hauled the large blonde patient rather unceremoniously onto a bed.
Ademia bit her tongue.
“All your results are good but I think Dr. Jasun is just being thorough, given your lack of facilities on that island.” The nurse sneered as she spoke about Ademia’s home. She set up her computer before turning back to the blonde girl, who lay, seething, on the bed with her arm stretched out to one side.
“My doctor’s a very thorough man,” Ademia said bluntly.
“He is that all right,” the nurse said with a salacious grin.
Ademia’s back was well and truly up now. How dare she talk about him like that?
“Do you know Dr. Jay?” Ademia asked through gritted teeth.
“Everyone knows Dr. Jasun,” the nurse replied with a sly smile, as she ran a probe over Ademia’s arm, “But none quite as well as I do.”
“And how well do you know him?”
“Well, it’s a bit of a secret, really,” Nurse Reis went on with a smug expression, “but the handsome doctor and I are what you might call an item.”
“Is that right?” Ademia was trying hard to control her anger.
“Oh yes, though, of course, I wouldn’t expect you to understand,” the nurse continued, as she studied the monitor. “But actually Dr. Jasun and I are very much together, if you get my meaning. No, you probably don’t, do you?” She gave Ademia a superior look before resuming her work at the computer.
“That must be very difficult for you as he lives on Refrainia. He doesn’t get over to the mainland very often, and certainly not often enough to have a relationship with anyone here.” Ademia felt her heart hammering as she tried to keep a cap on her rage.
“Oh, you don’t know Dr. Jasun,” Nurse Reis gloated.
“Well I should, being as how we live together.” Ademia relished providing the information and enjoyed the look of horror on the spiteful woman’s face.
The nurse lifted the probe from her arm and stared back at the large, blonde girl in the small blue bikini. “He lives with you? But you’re so…” Luckily for her she didn’t finish her sentence. She didn’t need to.
Her incredulous tone made Ademia’s heckles rise, and she sat up angrily. Taking a deep breath she attempted to sound nonchalant as she answered the snooty nurse. “Oh yes. Didn’t he tell you? We’ve been together quite a while now. I’d be interested to see how he’s had time to have a relationship with you. We’re practically inseparable.”
Ademia relished in the stunned expression on the nurse’s face as she quickly starting shutting down her computer. Leaning over to the young woman, the blonde patient said conspiratorially, “I’m glad you’ve finished. Dr. Jay and I have…er…plans for this afternoon, if you get my meaning. Oh, no, you probably don’t, do you?” With that she heaved her ample body down from the bed and pulled her shawl around her before heading for the door.

REVIEW: SARAH LEYTON'S SHARING ANNABELLE

Blurb:
Annabelle Rawlings has fallen for not one but two men. When Callum McCray and Mason Webb set their sights on Annabelle, they refuse to give up until they've made her realize that she belongs to them—no matter how many times she tries to deny it. They know she has dark, kinky desires that only they can satisfy.
When the guys are forced to deny their love, and hers, and push Annabelle away because of a deadly threat from their past, they doubt whether they’ll ever be able to win her back again.

Review:
We kick off with Annabelle, a Kansas small town girl in Chicago, working with an interior design firm and going home to an empty apartment. She's thrown herself into her work and enjoys spending her time with her college friend and boss, Noah Briar. Her life is about to be turned completely around when Noah takes on a new client needing their offices redecorated.
Callum McCray and Mason Webb best friends and looking for that special woman they could spend the rest of their lives with. Together. There's more to their interests than just sharing. They are co-owners of a BDSM club called Sin. When Callum sees Annabelle for the first time, he's instantly smitten, and her reactions to him are just as strong. Can he convince her to love him and Mason? Con he get her to accept training as their sub? And what are they going to do to protect her when a mentally unbalanced blast from the past turns up to kill her?

I enjoyed Sharing Annabelle. The sex was steamy, the guys gorgeous, and the right amount of tension and chemistry all there. The sex wasn't overly graphic, but keep in mind this an erotic novel. It might not be safe for work or poolside reading. The BDSM was kept light, as Annabelle is just being introduced to the lifestyle. Between the hot scenes, we get a nice story of a woman finding love and suffering loss only to find love again. The happily ever after rounds out the ending nicely. I'm giving Sharing Annabelle 4 stars!

REVIEW: CRACK THE WHIP BY JENNY MAY

Crack The Whip (Dark Days Ranch 3)
Georgina’s seen both the good and the bad that comes from having mates. The love the bonding creates lasts a lifetime. But that’s just it. After she watches her mother die of a broken heart, the anxiety Georgina develops over bonding to Damien and Austin is well warranted. Can she get over her fear, or will she keep the pact with her brother that they’re better off alone?
Damien and Austin know they have to bring Georgina around to being their mate. After all, Damien sees the perfect submissive that Georgina is, and he wants her to embrace the life she’s been ordered to live by their alpha. But as things heat up between the three of them, a plea for Damien to take over The Big C leaves him with a tough decision. Does he try to become the alpha he’s always known himself to be, and risk making Georgina’s fear of losing one of her mates a possible reality? Or does he walk away from it all and face the consequences?

Review:

Georgie is very reluctant to develop her mating bond with Damien and Austin. Once her father died, Georgie and her brother watched her mother wither and die soon after. Not wanting to be like their mother, Georgie and her brother take a vow to never bond with a mate. However, Damien isn't going to take no for an answer, and Georgie likes it that way. Her brother's reaction turns very violent. Georgie's now in danger of being killed by her own brother over her broken vow.

Damien has been working security for the Dark Days Ranch pack and others. He's worked alone for years, and now it's time to settle down with his two mates. Convincing Georgie takes a little more effort, but that's not a problem for our hero. He's the Dom her submissive side can't wait to bow down to. But will he put being a reluctant a Alpha and take over a neighboring mismanages pack?

Austin is a wolf and use to having to follow his Alpha. What he doesn't count on is being submissive to Damien in bed. The threesome takes some time to get use to and he has a part to play in getting Georgie to accept both his and Damien's love and affection. But her brother is a problem. Would she blame him and let grief come between them if Austin is forced to kill her brother to protect her?

Crack the Whip has several interesting complex sub-plots going on at the same time. Georgie not only has to deal with Damien's potential fight to the death but also with her struggle to not be like her mother. She's ordered by the pack alpha to live with Austin and Damien, and although part of her can't wait to submit to Damien's demands, she really wants to bolt like a spooked horse. Then there's Damien, he has his own internal conflicts. He was born to be an Alpha in his own right. He just doesn't want the job. What would happen to Georgie if her worst fears were realized with his death? It's a lot of him to consider. Then there's Austin. He's a good fighter and strong wolf, but he's not yet in touch with his submissive side.

I enjoyed watching the characters work out their individual problems and finally find their happy medium. The bondage wasn't intense, but it certainly was hot! This one turned out to be a real page turner. I'm not sure I call this one a safe work read, but a quiet moment alone with a glass of wine would make for an interesting evening. Crack the Whip gets 4 stars!

REVIEW: TIGHENING THE ROPES BY JENNY MAY

Tightening the Ropes (Dark Days Ranch 2)
Knox has guarded his heart from ever getting close to anyone. Intelligence work was supposed to keep him away from people, but a pull to be closer to the ranch leads him to discover Lewis. With one look at the horse trainer, Knox can feel the walls he’s put up begin to crumble. The damage only gets worse when he gets pulled over by Officer Lynna Gordova. Upon sight, he knows the three are meant to be together.
But things aren’t as they appear with Lynna. What led her into law enforcement so long ago has returned in the form of their rival enemy. As things heat up between Dark Days and Hidden Hills, the three of them are thrown right into the middle of a fight Knox isn’t sure he’s ready for. Will the Alpha in him be ready to step up to the plate, or will Lynna’s long lost brother be able to convince her that his corrupt plans for her are in Lynna’s best interest?
http://www.bookstrand.com/tightening-the-ropes

Review:

Lynn is a human on the local police force. Lewis is a human working on the Dark Days Ranch. know is a werewolf intelligence agent for the Dark Days Pack. The three come together to form a bond that pushes them into an adventure no one expected. In this case, the adventure involves a vampire.

I like the premise of Tightening the Ropes. I did have a bit of trouble with how easily Lynna let go of her training as a cop to give into the magic. It's not a bad story or a badly written story. I've known a lot of cops. They tend to be no nonsense and very practical. They would struggle a bit more with the magic before giving in to it. Once I set aside my misgivings about Lynna, the rest of the story went by without much of a hitch.

Knox's abused past make loving and being loved a difficult thing. Only a great deal of patience and care on the part of his bonded partners can save him. We get to see the big tough loner turn into a real hero. Lewis and Lynna bring out the best in him.

Then there's Lewis. He's the steady glue holding it all together. We've all meet those sort of people. They're good at being the calming factor, the rock everyone leans one, and the one friend to call in a crisis. Although he is a human in a werewolf world, he takes the whole notion in great stride. Lewis turns out to be one of my favorite characters in the story.

I enjoyed the tension and Knox's anxiety. Those moments where he struggles with himself over his past and what it means for his future are insightful and interesting. The sex scenes certainly did raise the temperature of the room a few degrees. The ending leaves the reader with a happily-ever-after with an edge. The broken Knox becomes a healer. It's a nice touch. I give Tightening the Ropes 3.5 stars!

REVIEW: BREAK ME IN BY JENNY MAY

Break Me In (Dark Days Ranch 1)
Myles Baker thinks she has everything under control. That is, until she meets her mates, Logan Harrison and Ty. Paired with a human, and member of the enemy pack, Myles knows that things are about to get complicated for Dark Days. But that’s only the beginning of her problems. There’s a scandal that lies deep within Dark Days Ranch, and for years Myles and her brother have been able to hide it. But it’s only a matter of time before everything is exposed, and the true leader of Dark Days is revealed.
Between Ty and Logan, they’re quickly learning the secrets to their new pack. But they have trouble of their own. Logan isn’t who he seems, and Ty is dealing with his evil ex-Alpha, Samone. Can these three overcome their problems before everything catches up with them, or will Samone, the Alpha of Whiskey River Ranch, accomplish her take down of Dark Days?

Review:

What happens when you throw hot cowboys and sexy werewolves together? Jenny May's Dark Days Ranch series, that's what. And what a combination it is!

Myles and her Alpha brother have been keeping a dirty little secret for years. He's the big, tough alpha of the Dark Days Ranch werewolf pack, but is he really? Myles is his elder twin and, by rights, the packs Alpha. Magic may have ordained Myles an alpha, bu tit forgot to check with her as to whether or not she wanted the job. No one else seems to notice, as long as she keeps a lid on her power. But how long will that last when she finds her mates?

Ty is from a neighboring enemy pack. He, too, was born a werewolf and know Myles for what she really is. He's been a ladies man for just as long. When the magic draws him to Myles, he's happy to plot a way to take her back to his pack. He doesn't count on the magic drawing him together with Myles plus one. His other problem lies in what to do if she refuses to go with him. His pack isn't likely to take to kindly to a defection.

Logan is a human who happens to work on the Dark Days Ranch. He loves breaking horses and working with animals. He keeps a secret of his own. Something deep inside of him speaks to the animals. He knows just what they need to bend them to his will. Myles is no exception. The magic chooses him to be the third mate. One little problem. He's always been interested in men. Being attracted to Myles has throw him for a loop.

I enjoyed the complex dynamic for the relationships. Logan and Ty both have some soul searching and exploring to do. Myles is a virgin being guided by magic she has no control over. There are a few more secrets that make this an interesting read and will provide a number of plot twists and turns. The sex is hot, the story pace is quick, and the ending is just as satisfying. I'm giving Break Me In a full 4 stars!
