Now one to a romantic destination, the historic Grove Park Inn! This charming hotel is nestled in the heart of the North Carolina mountains in Asheville. With spa packages, couples retreats, romantic wedding packages, golfing, and a drop-dead gorgeous indoor pool, the Grove Park Inn has been a favorite destination for over a century. Asheville is a great town as a retreat from the summer heat. The Grove Park Inn is a romantic way to do it in stlye!

Not far from this cozy getaway is a little town called Sylva, NC. It boomed as a railroad town, back when the train was an important part of the daily American landscape. These days, it's a quiet little community and the setting for parts of my Celestial Jewels series. Being a NC mountain native, I'm a little biased as to the beauty of my beloved Blue Ridge Mountains. Add a little vampire love action or some paranormal romance in Water's Lover, and I'm hooked! I see these gorgeous peaks everyday. I hope you enjoy a peak into my world, both real and imaginary!

MIDNIGHT'S JEWEL

Sabrina Rivers, an orphaned half witch and magical misfit, has been hidden from the world for
almost a century by her Aunt Eleanor. Her only possession is a mysterious dark crystalline pendant she can’t remove. She knows nothing about its powers or purpose.
When mercenaries attempt to steal the pendant in broad daylight, Eleanor has no choice but to entrust Sabrina’s safety to vampire Brandon Thorpe, kingpin of Atlanta’s supernatural underworld. While Eleanor hunts the would-be assassins, Sabrina learns what it means to finally be free to live and to love, but freedom has a cost. Her sheltered life left her with a heavy burden and no way to protect herself.
Is Brandon’s love real or a ploy to get Midnight’s Jewel? Will what she doesn’t know about her past get both of them killed? Can he protect her from her enemies and his? What price will she have to pay for love?
A Siren Erotic Romance

 About the Author

I started my love affair with vampires as a kid by reading Bram Stoker’s Dracula. It was the only vampire book our little local library branch had back then. Then, I discovered mail order books and fell in love with the tortured characters in Interview with a Vampire.  In the mid 80’s, the most amazing thing happened! My family bought a VCR, and I was finally able to see movies! All the vampire flicks I could beg for flickered across the screen, making the love affair into a passionate, lifelong relationship. Today, I write fantasy and paranormal romance and never pass up a chance to pair up vampires with the less-than-usual characters. Witches and elves currently top my list. I love weaving vampires into legends and myths where none exist. It’s my private world of the erotic, weird, and wonderful, and I invite every reader to go along for the ride.

  1. It felt great to know about a summer getaway in a small town like Sylva. I love small towns more than cities. So, it was really awesome to read about it.

  3. The blue mountains are gorgeous. Are there hiking trails in them? It looks like a great place to hike. And why is there a statue of an old hiker seemingly floating about in your pic? I like that your vampire on the cover doesn't bite.

There is hiking galore! FYI That's not a hiker in the photo. Like many towns in the southeastern US, that's a statue of a Confederate soldier. Even the loosing side had family that loved them and want to remember their fallen ancestors.

Take a virtual tour! NC has everything from remote, rugged mountains to relaxing coastlines. If you're a history buff, we have that, too! Most think of New England when they think of the Revolutionary War, but we had our fair share of action. The charm of the Old South can still be found hidden in quiet nooks, and the Outer Banks had Black Beard the Pirate!

  13. Sounds like a beautiful vacation spot. Went to the Blue Ridge Mountains when I was younger. It was so gorgeous. Now though my idea of a vacation is sitting on a beach reading a book with a drink in my hand, lol.
